Manipur Violence: Modi Government Deploys Additional 90 Companies To Control Situation
In response to the recent surge in violence in Manipur, the Central Government has taken decisive action by deploying 90 additional companies of security forces. This measure aims to restore peace and maintain law and order in the region. Authorities are focused on preventing further escalation and ensuring the safety of civilians.
The deployment of these forces is part of a broader strategy to stabilise the situation in Manipur. The government is working diligently to address the underlying issues contributing to the unrest. The presence of additional security personnel is expected to deter further violence and provide reassurance to residents.

Government's Efforts to Restore Peace
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has emphasised the importance of restoring peace and order in Manipur. During a review meeting, he called for swift action to address the ongoing crisis. The government is committed to finding a resolution that ensures long-term stability in the region.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has also urged for a quick resolution to the violence. Amid renewed clashes, they have highlighted the need for effective measures to bring about peace. The involvement of various stakeholders underscores the seriousness of the situation.
Local Leaders Call for Intervention
Irom Sharmila, a prominent activist, has stressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention is crucial for resolving the crisis in Manipur. Her call for action reflects the urgency felt by many local leaders who are seeking a peaceful solution.
The Manipur Congress has demanded action against P Chidambaram over his comments on regional autonomy. This political tension adds another layer of complexity to an already volatile situation, highlighting differing perspectives on how best to address regional issues.
Security Measures and Public Safety
Security personnel have been conducting patrols in sensitive areas across Manipur. Their presence aims to reassure residents and prevent any further outbreaks of violence. The government's focus remains on maintaining public safety while addressing root causes of unrest.
The Centre's decision to hand over three cases related to violence in Manipur to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) demonstrates its commitment to thorough investigation and accountability. This move is intended to ensure justice and deter future incidents.
The recent deployment of additional security forces marks a significant step towards restoring order in Manipur. As efforts continue, authorities remain vigilant in their mission to protect civilians and promote lasting peace in this troubled region.
