Mallikarjun Kharge’s Louis Vuitton scarf sparks controversy; BJP hits back, says ‘Should JPC look into...?'
On the other hand, PM Narendra Modi wore a half-sleeved light blue bandhgala jacket made of material recycled from plastic bottles to Parliament.
New Delhi, Feb 09: Congress president and senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who called himself 'Bhoomi Putra' during his speech in the Upper House, attracted everyone's attention for wearing a Louis Vuitton scarf in Parliament on Wednesday.

On the other hand, in a message to sustainability, PM Narendra Modi wore a half-sleeved light blue bandhgala jacket made of material recycled from plastic bottles to Parliament. The jacket was presented to Modi by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) during the India Energy Week in Bengaluru on Monday.
BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla took a dig at Kharge on Twitter for his "expensive" sense of style and compared it with PM Narendra Modi's sustainable, ecofriendly jacket made of recycled plastic bottles.
Taking to Twitter, Poonawalla wrote,''Taste apna apna , Sandesh Apna Apna. PM @narendramodi sports a blue jacket made from recycled bottles sending a green message of fighting climate change ... Kharge ji wears expensive LV scarf & talks about poverty! Burberry-LV poverty experts!.''
According to the image posted by the BJP leader, the Louis Vuitton scarf costs Rs 84,184. He also compared Kharge's 'expensive' fashion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'sustainable fashion'.
Taking a jibe at Kharge, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said if the JPC be allowed in an individual's case, then it can also probe the source of the Louis Vuitton scarf that the leader of opposition was wearing.

What are Jackets made of recycled plastic bottles?
Jackets made of recycled plastic bottles are a popular sustainable fashion choice. The process of creating this type of material, called "rPET," involves melting down used plastic bottles and spinning the melted material into fibers, which can then be woven into fabric. The use of recycled plastic bottles in the production of clothing helps to reduce waste and reduce the demand for new petroleum-based materials, which are non-renewable and harmful to the environment. Companies that specialize in sustainable fashion and outdoor gear often offer jackets made from rPET or other recycled materials.
