Malayalam writer Punathil Kunjabdulla passes away
Doctor by profession, Kunjabdulla was a modernist in Malayalam literature. His novel Smarakasilakal (Memorial Stones) won the Kendra Sahithya Academy Award (Malayalam) in 1980.
Malayalam writer Punathil Kunjabdulla passed away on Friday at the age of 75 in Kerala's Kozhikode.
Doctor by profession, Kunjabdulla was a modernist in Malayalam literature. His novel Smarakasilakal (Memorial Stones) won the Kendra Sahithya Academy Award (Malayalam) in 1980.
Born in Vatakara in Kozhikode district, Kunjabdulla received a bachelor's degree from Government Brennen College, Thalassery and an MBBS degree from Aligarh Muslim University.
His other major works include Marunnu, Kanyavanangal, Kathi and Aligarh Kathakal.
