Main Accused Arrested in Delhi Police Constable Drag Death Case Involving Sandeep Malik
The primary suspect in the killing of a Delhi Police constable was apprehended on Monday, according to officials. The constable, Sandeep Malik, aged 30, was allegedly run over by a car and dragged for 10 metres in the Nangloi area. The incident occurred early Sunday morning while Malik was on duty in plain clothes near Veena Enclave.

Meanwhile, Rajnish, also known as Situ, another accused in the case, has been remanded to three-day police custody by a local court. The police reported that Dharmender Gulia, also known as Bhandre, was driving the Maruti WagonR involved in the incident. Rajnish was sitting beside him when they allegedly struck Malik's motorcycle.
Accused Arrested and Interrogated
Dharmender Gulia was arrested at Mukarba Chowk on Monday evening while returning to Delhi from Himachal Pradesh. Deputy Commissioner Jimmy Chiram confirmed his arrest and stated that further interrogation is underway. Dharmender works for an e-commerce company, while Rajnish operates a grocery shop. Both reside in Veena Enclave.
The FIR indicates that Malik had reprimanded Dharmender and Rajnish for consuming alcohol on the road. This confrontation reportedly led to their anger and subsequent actions of running him down with their vehicle. After the incident, Dharmender fled the scene, abandoning the car.
Investigation Details
Rajnish was apprehended on Sunday shortly after the incident. The investigation has not uncovered any involvement of a liquor mafia in this case, according to police statements. An FIR has been filed under murder charges against the accused individuals.
The tragic event highlights the dangers faced by law enforcement officers even while performing routine duties. Authorities are continuing their investigation to gather more evidence and ensure justice is served for Constable Sandeep Malik's untimely death.
