Lok Sabha Elections 2024: PM Modi, Amit Shah, Yogi Adityanath, JP Nadda, Others Meet To Finalise Candidates
For the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Primer Minister Narendra Modi along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda held a key meeting at the party's headquarters on Thursday.
The meeting was also attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, his deputies Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Goa CM Pramod Sawant to finalize around 100 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

The Lok Sabha elections 2024 are likely to be held by April-May, and for that BJP-led NDA has set a target of 400+ seats. According to the reports, the BJP has joined hands with 38 national and state parties to achieve the Prime Minister's target and retain power.
The reports added that the first list of candidates will include Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and many other party heavyweights' names for the elections.
Many senior leaders who have not been named for another Rajya Sabha term, are likely to contest elections this time.
The reports said the BJP may give tickets to many new faces for the upcoming elections. However, more than 100 senior candidates' names might be slashed this time.
Reports added that CEC will focus on seats of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Telangana, Rajasthan, Goa, Gujarat, and other states. While, decisions on Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu will be made later.
The candidates will be short-listed on the basis of an internal "winnability survey" of the party.
