It is expected that the Election body may also conduct assembly elections for four states Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim along with the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

A few media reports also suggested that elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, union territories with the presidential rule, could also go under polling along with the Lok Sabha elections. State parties like the National Conference (NC) and People's Democratic Party (PDP) have been continuously demanding to conduct elections in the valley.

Earlier, while reviewing the petition to restore the statehoodship, the Supreme Court had also directed the Elections Commission to get the assembly elections done by September 30 as a first step towards the restoration of statehood in Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
