Lok Sabha elections 2024: Congress And NC Seal The Deal For Jammu-Kashmir And Ladakh
According to the reports, the Congress and the National Conference have finalized the seat-sharing formula for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. Farooq Abdullah's National Conference has a similar ideology and thoughts to the INDIA Bloc against the Narendra Modi government. According to a likely deal between Congress and the National Conference, the NC will contest on all three seats in Kashmir, while Congress will field candidates on two seats in Jammu and one in Ladakh.
The seat sharing was finalized after a marathon meeting at the National Conference's Headquarters. However, the official announcement is yet to be made.

Talking to the media, Nasir Aslam Wani, NC provincial president, Kashmir said "The National Conference will contest these three seats from the valley on its own." He added that talks about Jammu and Ladakh's seats are going on and the final decision will be made soon.
If speculations are to be believed, the election commission is likely to announce the schedule for Lok Sabha elections by March 15. The polls are due to be held in April-May this year.
Earlier, special to the media, Dr Abdullah had said that there is nothing new in political parties with the same ideology coming together for national interests, especially during the elections.
"We have to fight the elections on our own. But, there is no doubt that the party is entering into a pre-poll bonhomie with Congress. Omar Abdullah is presently engaged in talks with Congress in this regard," he had said.
On the other side, the BJP-led NDA has set a target of 400 plus seats for this election, while the INDIA bloc is eyeing to dethrone Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
