Kolkata Shocked: Famous Bengali actor meets with accident, dies
Kolkata, Oct 26: Piyush Ganguly was a famous face in Tollywood, the film world of Kolkata, West Bengal. His sudden demise shocked and saddened everyone.
The 50-year-old actor met with a fatal accident on Oct 20, the day when all Bengalis across the world were busy celebrating Durga Puja.

Piyush Ganguly and another well-known dancer-actress Malabika Sen were returning to Kolkata when their car was hit by a lorry. The accident took place near Kolkata.
Piyush, who was driving the car, received serious injuries. He was admitted to Belle Vue Clinic in Kolkata. Malabika Sen too was admitted to hospital. She, however, was discharged later.

Doctors of the hospital informed that condition of the actor turned critical on Saturday. He was put under ventilation with full life support as his parameters were fluctuating massively.
Doctors had planned for a second operation but they were forced to cancel their plan as the actor's condition deteriorated massively.
Later he succumbed to his injuries in the wee hours of Sunday. Piyush survived by his wife and son.
In their official statement, doctors were quoted as saying, "He died at 2:45 am because of multi-organ failure and fat embolism in a case polytrauma after he met with a road accident on Tuesday."
Entire Tollywood and his fans gathered to pay last tribute to Piyush on Sunday. His family members, friends and colleagues were inconsolable.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who had visited hospital to check the health condition of the actor, tweeted, "Shocked and saddened that actor Pijush Ganguly died. He was close to us and very talented. My condolences to his family. RIP."
