Kolkata: Famous Bengali actress commits suicide

Kolkata, April 9: Disha Ganguly, a popular TV actress, has been found dead at her residence in Kolkata on Thursday, April 9.

Disha's body has been found hanging from ceiling fan. Police sent the body for postmortem. Cops have begun investigating the case.

Meanwhile, a shocking information brought a new twist in the suicide case. It has been informed that one of Disha's close friends too tried to kills self on the same day.

Police, however, did not disclose the identity of the friend who currently is in a hospital, claimed media reports.

The investigating officials have been probing whether there were any connection between the two cases.

Reason(s) behind Disha's death has not been revealed yet by the investigating officers. Her parents, who live in South Africa, will reach Kolkata on Friday.

Her last rites will be performed on Friday. the young actress is a known face in Bengali TV industry. She was working in a popular TV show 'Tumi Ashbe Bole' at Star Jalsa.
