The movements of the accused on June 26 are crucial to the investigation. Their mobile phone locations showed activity around Ballygunge Station Road and Fern Place. Investigators are using mobile tower data to track their whereabouts. "The movement of the accused three is very important for the sake of the investigation," an officer stated.

Investigation Details and Challenges

Detectives are analysing call records to understand the purpose of meetings that might relate to the case. The suspects have reportedly provided conflicting statements, possibly to mislead investigators. "Because these three are law students, they know certain tricks. They are giving out contradictory statements to confuse us," said an officer.

The police have questioned Dr Nayna Chatterji, Vice-Principal of the college, about her conversation with Mishra on June 26 morning. Additionally, investigators spoke with some of the 16 people present at the college when the crime occurred. A stain found on a bed sheet from the guards' room is being examined for links to the incident.

Changes in Investigation Team

The Detective Department (DD) of Kolkata Police has taken over the investigation from the Special Investigation Team (SIT). "Necessary documents have been handed over," an officer mentioned. The DD has added charges such as kidnapping and causing harm with dangerous weapons to the case.

The victim's father expressed trust in Kolkata Police's handling of the case. "I want nothing but stringent punishment against the criminals," he stated. The investigation continues as authorities work to piece together evidence and testimonies related to this serious allegation.
