OMG! After TaxiForSure, now Uber driver caught masturbating while driving, arrested

Kolkata, July 22: After TaxiForSure driver in Delhi, now it's Kolkata where an Uber driver has been arrested over obscene act. The driver has been identified as Pintu Yadav.

The incident took place on July 8 and Kolkata Police arrested him on July 20. The driver, however, was released on bail later. Without wasting any time, Uber too took action against the driver and suspended him.

It has been reported that a woman filed police complaint against the driver stating that Yadav was masturbating while driving the car. The woman was scared and confronted the driver, who did not pay heed to her.

Kolkata Police registered case against Pintu under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to outrage the modesty of a woman) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Speaking about the incident, a police official was quoted as saying, "We will charge him under stronger penal sections. This is the first violation by any app taxi driver in the city."

"...We know they are expanding and that is why there may be some lacunae in police verification. We will try to bridge the gap. We will not take any action against Uber as there is no reason to do so. Uber is assisting us with the investigation," the officer added.

Earlier similar incident occurred in Delhi. A woman filed a complaint against a TaxiForSure driver over the same obscene act.
