According to an India Today report they were taken to the police station in Mercedez late last night.

Amritpal's uncle called up the Punjab police to inform cops that he was in Bulandi Gurudwara in Shahkot. His uncle and driver were then taken to Mehatpur at midnight, following which they surrendered, the report said.

Meanwhile, the hunt for Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh entered day 3 on Monday. So far, the police have arrested 112 associates of Amritpal Singh -- 34 of them on Sunday. Four of Amritpal Singh's top aides, arrested and flown to Assam's Dibrugarh have been charged under the stringent National Security Act (NSA).

The elusive preacher, however, gave the police a slip and escaped their dragnet when his cavalcade was intercepted in Jalandhar district, even as authorities stepped up security at several places in the northern state. He is yet to be arrested.

Jalandhar DIG Swapan Sharma narrated the chase sequence where fugitive preacher Amritpal Singh managed to outrun cops.

Talking about the chase, he said, "We were directed to nab him (Amritpal Singh), while chasing he ended up on a one-lane link road ahead of us. While outrunning us he crashed into 5-6 motorbike riders, some were with the motive to divert us from the chase."

During the chase, the radical preacher changed his routes several times and reached a one-lane link road of 12 to 13km.

During the ongoing investigation, several arms and ammunition meant for the so-called Anandpur Khalsa Front (AKF), a creation of Amritpal Singh, were seized. Also, police confiscated uniforms and jackets, officials said, adding that the weapons and ammunition seized from the radical Sikh preacher's car bore "AKF" marking on it.

Meanwhile, curbs on mobile internet and SMS services have been extended in Punjab.
