Khalistan: Canada is dealing in messy waters in the name of freedom of speech
The zero-terror policy by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not allow the Khalistan movement to thrive on India soil. However the West not not seem to understand this
The Khalistan forces have raised their ugly head once against and this it is again in Canada.
On Monday, the supporters of the Khalistan movement had gathered outside the consulate at Vancouver and raised Khalistan flags while demanding the release of Sikhs who have been imprisoned in India.

The development comes in the wake of Punjab Governor, Banwarilal Purohit calling on the sarpanches in the border villages of Punjab to take steps to stall the revival of the Khalistan movement.
An official tells OneIndia that the Khalistan movement has not gained much traction in India. However these so-called liberal governments in the West especially in Canada have helped these anti-India forces gain traction. For years now they have been protecting these people and from there they have been able to launch attacks in India.
The Khalistan movement and their honchos are largely found in Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. It is quite surprising that in the name of freedom of speech, these elements are allowed to operate in these countries. It will come back and hit them one day, the official cited above also said.
The official also explained that the ISI has instructed these elements to go on a rampage against the Hindu Temples abroad. They have been numerous instances of pro-Khalistan elements attacking Hindu Temples in Canada and off-late in Australia. The ISI follows the same ideology be it with their Jaish-e-Mohammad, Lashkar-e-Tayiba or Khalistan Zindabad Force. The pattern is clear and that is the destruction of Hindus.
The problem however is the governments in most western nations. In Canada or the United Kingdom or for that matter the United State, there is a sizeable Sikh population. It is in this context that proscribed groups such as the Sikhs for Justice have been allowed to operate in these countries. It is both politics as well as the garb of freedom of speech, another official explained.
The official further explained that the West does not seem to understand the gravity of the problem. India has very often cautioned these countries about the depth of the problem. These countries do not understand that their soil is being used to plot, plant and execute murders in India. Counter-terror experts say that India is well aware of the dangers of the Khalistan menace. India has encountered the problem in the 1980s and has been successful in shutting down the problem. It is the West that needs to have a better understanding that this menace is going beyond control. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's zero-terror policy will not allow the Khalistan movement to grow in India. Every step taken by them will be thwarted, like what we saw in the case of Jammu and Kashmir. It is for the West to think that by allowing such elements to thrive on their soil, the problem will soon become a huge one for them to deal with, the expert further explained.
