Modi flags off Kerala's first Vande Bharat Exp: Find route, fare & timing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Kerala's first Vande Bharat Express on Tuesday. It is the 16th Vande Bharat Express train in the country.

The train will cover 11 districts namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod.

The new Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of approximately 587 kilometres in around 8 hours and 5 minutes. The train's operations to the public will start on April 26 on the Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram route and on April 28 on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod way.

Kasaragod - Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Vande Bharat train will be running all days of the week except Thursday.

    Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram - Rs 1,520 (CC) and Rs 2,815 (EC)

    The bookings for Kerala's first Vande Bharat Express train that will operate on the Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kasaragod corridor and back have begun in the state. Passengers can book tickets from IRCTC's official website, mobile app or at any railway reservation counter.

    Notably, the new Vande Bharat train will be faster than the Rajdhani Express, which takes around 10 hours and 45 minutes to cover the same distance.

    Vande Bharat will complete the journey from Trivandrum Central to Kasaragod in 8.05 hours while the Rajdhani takes 8 hours and 59 minutes to cover the same distance.

    Vande Bharat will cost Rs 2,880 in executive class and Rajdhani costs Rs 2,770 in the train's first class.
