Kerala: Pregnant 15-year-old girl says 13-year-old boy is her child's father

The incident came to light when the girl complained of stomach pain and was taken to hospital where the doctor informed her mother that she was fully pregnant.

In a rare incident, the Kollam district's Pathanapuram police on Thursday took a 13-year-old boy into custody on allegation of impregnating his 15-year-old neighbour.

The minor boy was later produced before Kollam chief judicial magistrate granted him bail and sent home with his parents though the boy had admitted the crime.

The incident came to light when the girl complained of stomach pain and was taken to hospital where the doctor informed her mother that she was fully pregnant and need to consult some better doctor. However, the girl refused and gave birth to the baby at her house.

It was after that the police registered a case against the 13-yar-old boy. In her statement, the girl told the police that her teenage neighbour is responsible for her pregnancy.
