Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram To Get Another Vande Bharat Express From Sept 24; Check Route And Timings
The second Vande Bharat Express is expected to debut in Kerala around September 24, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducting a virtual inauguration. This new train is likely to operate between Kasargod and Thiruvananthapuram, passing through Alappuzha. There are also plans to extend its route to Mangalore in the near future. However, due to the absence of a yard in Kasargod, the train will need occasional maintenance in Mangalore.
While a train was allocated to the Palakkad division a few weeks ago, it has been stationed at a yard in Chennai. The scheduled service for this new train will commence at 7 AM from Kasargod, reaching Thiruvananthapuram by 3.05 PM. The return trip to Kasargod will commence at 4.05 PM, concluding at 11.55 PM. This train will run for six days a week.

Initially, stops will only be permitted at Kannur, Kozhikode, Shornur, Thrissur, Ernakulam South, Alappuzha, and Kollam stations.
The Vande Bharat Express in Kerala is one of the country's most successful trains, with an average occupancy rate of 183 percent on the Kasargod-Thiruvananthapuram route. The Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod service is also performing well, with an average occupancy of 176 percent. The first Vande Bharat Express was inaugurated by the Prime Minister on April 25.
