Karnataka assembly election result 2023 will be out on May 13. The state is witnessing a three-cornered contest between the ruling party-BJP, the Congress, and the regional party Janata Dal-Secular.
Arvind Kejriwal-led the Aam Aadmi Party has also fielded its candidates. Also, there are some smaller parties and independent candidates in the fray in a few constituencies.

The exit poll results by various pollsters have predicted a hung assembly in Karnataka. Five out of ten pollsters predicted that the Congress will emerge as the single-largest party in the Karnataka Assembly elections, in a close contest with the BJP.
The fate of prominent leaders like Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Congress heavyweights Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, and HD Kumaraswamy will be decided on Saturday.

The ruling BJP is looking to break a 38-year-old poll jinx where the people have never voted the incumbent party to power, while the Congress is hoping to wrest power from the saffron party and to give it a much-needed momentum to position itself as the main opposition player in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.The JDS is hoping to play a crucial role in Karnataka state politics, in the event of a hung verdict, as it has done in the past.

In the 2018 elections, the BJP had emerged as the single largest party by winning 104 seats, followed by Congress with 80seats. JDS won 37 seats. There was also one independent member, while the BSP and Karnataka Pragnyavantha Janatha Party (KPJP) got one legislator each elected.
In the 2018 elections, Congress registered a vote share of 38.04 per cent, BJP garnered a vote share of 36.22 per cent, and the JDS got 18.36 per cent.
