Jharkhand Elections: BJP's Babulal Marandi Slams JMM, Says Hemant Soren Govt Looted State
Babulal Marandi, the BJP's Jharkhand president and candidate from Dhanwar, has sharply criticised the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). He accused them of exploiting the state's resources over the last five years. Marandi alleged that they looted sand, coal, and land belonging to both Adivasis and the army. He stated that government offices have become centres of extortion due to corruption.
Marandi expressed confidence in the upcoming elections, saying, "The election has been announced in Jharkhand. We were already working, but now everyone will intensify their efforts in their respective constituencies... BJP will form the government in Jharkhand... Such is the extent of corruption and looting in the state that even government offices have become centres of extortion... People have been waiting for election day, eager for the chance to vote and change the government."

Upcoming Elections and Alliances
The BJP has announced its first list of 66 candidates for the Jharkhand elections. They plan to contest in alliance with AJSU, JD-U, and LJP. The BJP will field candidates in 68 seats, AJSU in 10 seats, JD-U in two seats, and LJP in one seat. This coalition aims to challenge the ruling JMM-led alliance.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren revealed that the INDIA bloc would contest together in the assembly polls. The JMM and Congress will field candidates in 70 out of 81 seats. Discussions are ongoing with RJD and Left parties regarding the remaining seats.
Election Schedule
Elections for all 81 seats in Jharkhand's assembly are scheduled for November 13 and November 20. The announcement has intensified political activities across constituencies as parties prepare for a fierce electoral battle.
Marandi emphasised that people are eager to vote out corrupt leaders. He claimed that under JMM's rule, everything from sand to land was looted indiscriminately. He assured voters that a transformation awaits Jharkhand if they choose wisely this time.
The BJP's strategy involves forming alliances with regional parties like AJSU to strengthen their position against JMM. Meanwhile, Soren's announcement about INDIA bloc's joint contest reflects a united front among opposition parties.
As election day approaches, both alliances are gearing up for intense campaigning. The political landscape is set for significant changes depending on voter turnout and preferences during these crucial elections.
