Jharkhand Assembly Election Latest Result 2024: Date, Time, Number Of Seats Required To Form Govt And Others
The Jharkhand Assembly election results are set to be announced on Saturday, November 23. Voting was conducted in two phases, on November 13 and November 20, across all 81 constituencies. The main contest is between the ruling JMM-led INDIA bloc and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Vote counting starts at 8 a.m., with results expected by afternoon.
On the same day, results for the Maharashtra Assembly elections and by-polls in 14 states will also be declared. Jharkhand's political scene has been unstable in the past but saw more stable governments over the last decade. The Raghubar Das-led BJP government in 2014 was the first to complete a full term.

Jharkhand's Political History
In 2019, the JMM-led alliance won 47 seats, taking control from the BJP. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) secured 30 seats, Congress got 16, and RJD one seat. The BJP managed to win only 25 seats, while JVM-P won three, AJSU Party two, CPI-ML and NCP one each, with two Independents also winning.
The 2014 elections were significant as the BJP-led NDA defeated Hemant Soren's government to form a new administration. This marked Jharkhand's first government that completed its full term. The BJP contested 72 seats and won 37 with a vote share of 31.26 per cent.

In the same election year of 2014, Congress fielded candidates for 62 seats but only won six with a vote share of 10.46 per cent. Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) nominated candidates for 19 seats but didn't secure any victories in Jharkhand.
Key Players in Past Elections
The AJSUP contested eight seats in 2014 and won five with a vote share of 3.68 per cent. Hemant Soren's JMM contested in 79 seats and secured victories in 19 with a vote share of 20.43 per cent. Babulal Marand's JVM nominated candidates for 73 seats but only managed to win eight with a vote share of 9.99 per cent.
As Jharkhand votes for its next government, there is hope among voters for a majority government that can last five years. The political landscape remains fragile despite recent stability.
The upcoming election results will determine if Jharkhand continues its trend of stable governance or returns to its previous volatility. All eyes are on whether the JMM-led INDIA bloc or BJP-headed NDA will emerge victorious this time around.
