Jharkhand 2024 Elections: Amit Shah Vows to Eradicate Bangladeshi Infiltration
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during a rally in Jharkhand's Dhanwar Assembly Constituency, pledged to eliminate Bangladeshi infiltration and corruption. He urged the public to vote for a BJP government in the upcoming assembly elections.
Shah accused the Hemant Soren-led administration of protecting infiltrators and denying rights to tribals and backward classes. He stressed that leadership change is essential for the state's progress.

Focus on Tribal Rights
The home minister promised that if elected, the BJP would enact laws to reclaim lands taken from tribal women. "These infiltrators are coming here from Bangladesh. They are taking away the jobs of the backward classes, usurping the lands of the tribals, and humiliating them by marrying tribal girls. You form the BJP government. Our government will pick out every single infiltrator and throw them out from here," Shah stated.
Highlighting corruption under the JMM-RJD-Congress coalition, Shah alleged misuse of central funds meant for development by Hemant Soren's government. He referred to Rs 350 crore seized from Congress MP Dhiraj Sahu's residence as evidence.
Allegations Against Congress and JMM
Earlier, in Madhupur and Dumka, Shah accused Congress and JMM of spreading misinformation about the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He also claimed they aimed to divert reservation quotas meant for tribals, OBCs, and Dalits towards Muslims.
"This Congress party and JMM want to give reservation to Muslims. 50 percent reservation has already been given in this country, and if you (Congress) want to give reservation to Muslims, then someone's reservation will have to be cut. Rahul Baba, whose reservation will you cut – OBC, Dalit, or tribal – to give reservation to Muslims?" Shah questioned at a rally in Madhupur.
BJP's Vision for Jharkhand
Shah emphasized BJP's role in Jharkhand's formation and development. "The Congress government did not give Jharkhand its rights, and today, to become the Chief Minister, Hemant ji has gone into the lap of the same Congress. The work of creating Jharkhand was done by the great leader of BJP, our former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, and now the work of improving Jharkhand is being done by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi," he said.
The Home Minister outlined plans for industrialization in Jharkhand to reduce unemployment. "Jharkhand is the most prosperous state of the country. There is so much coal and minerals here that Jharkhand alone can provide minerals and energy to the entire country, but unfortunately, Jharkhand is prosperous, and Jharkhandis are poor," he remarked.
Upcoming Elections
Amit Shah urged voters to support a BJP-led government under Narendra Modi's leadership. "Modi ji will make Jharkhand the number one state in just five years," he added confidently.
The assembly elections in Jharkhand are conducted in two phases. The first phase took place on November 13 while polling for the second phase is set for November 20. Vote counting will occur on November 23.
