The activist, K R 'Traffic' Ramaswamy, on October 21, had moved the apex court seeking protection from arrest after a FIR was lodged against him by Tamil Nadu police for allegedly spreading rumours about the health condition of the Chief Minister, who is undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Chennai.

He had said the police had booked him and others under various sections of IPC including charges for inciting class or community to commit an offence.

The activist had also sought quashing of the FIR lodged against him by the state police.
