The former Union minister ha demanded that he be given poll ticket from Barmer, his home town. But due to stiff opposition from party leaders such as Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje, BJP leadership decided to field ex-Congress man Colonel Sonaram Choudhary from Barmer.
