J&K: Pakistan initiates unprovoked ceasefire violation in KG sector of Poonch

Pakistan on Friday violated ceasefire in Poonch's Krishna Ghati sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan Army on Friday initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati (KG) sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.The Indian army too gave a befitting response.

Earlier on Thursday, an army jawan was among two people killed, while six others including a defence porter injured in unprovoked mortar shelling by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati and Karmara areas of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Incidents of ceasefire violation by Pakistan have increased sharply this year. Till August 1, there were 285 such violations by the Pakistan Army, while in 2016, the number was significantly less at 228 for the entire year, according to the Army figures.
