IOB Bank Robbery in Lucknow: Thieves Break into Chinhat Branch Lockers
A robbery occurred at the Chinhat branch of Indian Overseas Bank in Lucknow, with several lockers found broken and their contents missing, according to police reports. The incident was discovered on Sunday, and authorities are investigating the matter.

Bank manager Sandeep Singh suspects that the thieves entered the building by creating a hole in a wall shared with an adjacent empty plot. Police believe that four individuals might have been involved in this crime. They have formed six teams to apprehend the culprits.

Despite the bank's claim of adequate security measures, police noted the absence of an alarm system and security personnel during the theft. Indian Overseas Bank acknowledged the incident and stated, "Indian Overseas Bank IOB is aware of the unfortunate incident involving a robbery which occurred despite adequate security measures at our Chinhat Branch in Lucknow."
The bank has assured full cooperation with local law enforcement to expedite the investigation. "We are fully committed to supporting the authorities in their investigation and are working closely with local law enforcement agencies to ensure that the matter is resolved swiftly," the bank mentioned in its statement.

Indian Overseas Bank has confirmed that it has insurance coverage for such incidents. The bank emphasised its commitment to customer safety, stating, "The safety and security of our customers and their assets remain our top priority."
