India Today-C Voter Predictions: NDA Set For 3rd Term - Key Findings From Mood Of The Nation
The BJP will return to power with a bang if the general elections are held today, according to the Mood of the Nation (MOTN) survey.
The saffron party will get one seat more than what it had won in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. The NDA will return to power with 335 seats. It means the ruling alliance will not be able to cross the 400-seat mark as claimed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament, a few days ago.

The Opposition bloc INDIA is predicted to win 166 seats while others will win 42 seats. The survey claims that the ruling party will win 304 seats out of 545. The Congress is predicted to win 71 seats. In 2019, the grand old party had secured 71 seats.
Here are the key findings from the India Today opinion poll:
- BJP will win 303, one more than 2019 polls. In total, NDA will win 335 seats. It means the ruling alliance will lose 18 seats compared to the previous poll.
- Congress will win 71 seats and the INDIA bloc will get 166 seats.
- In North India, NDA is winning 154 out of 180 seats while INDIA bloc is winning 26 seats.
- In South India, NDA is winning 27 seats, INDIA bloc is winning 76 seats and others 29.
- In East India, NDA is winning 103 seats, INDIA bloc is winning 38 seats and others 12.
- In West India, NDA is winning 51 seats and INDIA bloc is winning 27 seats.
- The major setback for the BJP is in Maharashtra where it is winning 22 while INDIA bloc is winning 26.
- Overall, the BJP's predicted vote share is 39.6 per cent and Congress' vote share is 19.9 per cent.
- PM Modi's popularity remains significant.
- Ram Mandir, Article 370, the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, and corruption-free image get thumbs up from respondents.
- Unemployment and price rise remain significant concern.
- It is expected that the BJP will secure 304 out of 543 seats, indicating its ability to independently hold a simple majority. The BJP has improved upon its previous tally of 303 seats in 2019 by one seat.
