India’s GDP Clocks Up To 8.4% In Q3; PM Modi Says Govt Aims To Make Viksit Bharat
The Lok Sabha elections 2024 are around the corner and just before it, a piece of good news arrived for the Narendra Modi Government. According to the latest data shared by the National Statistical Office (NSO), on Thursday, India's Gross Domestic Production (GDP) accelerated to 8.4 % in the third quarter of 2023-24. In the last quarter, the GDP growth was marked at 7.6 %.
The GDP growth was praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Taking it to Twitter, PM Modi said, "Robust 8.4% GDP growth in Q3 2023-24 shows the strength of the Indian economy and its potential. Our efforts will continue to bring fast economic growth which shall help 140 crore Indians lead a better life and create a Viksit Bharat!"

Earlier, in January 2024, the GDP growth was 7.3 % for the current fiscal in its first advance estimate.
Sharing the data, the Government said, "GDP at Constant (2011-12) Prices in Q3 of 2023-24 is estimated at ₹43.72 lakh crore, against ₹40.35 lakh crore in Q3 of 2022-23, showing a growth rate of 8.4 percent. GDP at Current Prices in Q3 of 2023-24 is estimated at ₹75.49 lakh crore, as against ₹68.58 lakh crore in Q3 of 2022-23, showing a growth rate of 10.1 % ".
Praising the Government, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, in a tweet, said, "Modinomics has ensured that the Indian economy keeps growing at a robust rate and remains a global bright spot in terms of real growth."
"GDP growth at 8.4% in Q3, better than what was projected and what many naysayers had predicted, once again cements India's position as the world's fastest growing large economy. Fast-paced economic growth for the prosperity of India and all its citizens is a #ModiGuarantee," he added.
The rise in GDP will surely help the ruling party to answer the opposition who has been questioning the government over development and sinking economy.
