India Ready to Make Mark at G20 Summit as Presidency Offers 'Golden Opportunity'
India is set to make its mark on the global stage with its presidency of the upcoming G20 Summit. Top officials believe this is a golden opportunity for India which is currently celebrating 75 years of independence and has become the fifth largest economy in the world.
As India gears up to host the G20 Summit, a sense of optimism and anticipation is palpable in the country. Holding the prestigious G20 Presidency at this time is seen as a golden opportunity for India to make its mark on the global stage, according to a top official from the Ministry of External Affairs. The G20 Summit, often regarded as an influential platform that brings together leaders from major economies across the world, offers an excellent chance for India to showcase its progress and potential.
A Golden Opportunity

In an exclusive interview on Friday with Muktesh Pardesi, Special Secretary – G20 India, it was asserted that India is all prepared for the summit. According to him, not only does this event hold significance as a standalone global meeting but also because it coincides with several positive developments within India. "We celebrated 75 years of our Independence; we are now recognized as the fifth largest economy and maintain our status as the largest democracy," said Pardesi.
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: One Earth, One Family, One Future
Pardesi further revealed that 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' -- translating into 'One Earth, One Family, One Future' will be at heart of discussions during this year's summit. This ancient Indian philosophy emphasizes universal kinship and shared responsibility towards sustainable development - themes that resonate strongly amidst current global challenges such as climate change and socio-economic disparities.
World Leaders Arrive in Delhi
The capital city New Delhi has been bustling with activity since Friday when many world leaders started arriving ahead of the summit. Among them was US President Joe Biden who held wide-ranging talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon his arrival.
An Upbeat Mood Prevails
"The mood of the people in the country ahead of the G20 Summit is upbeat and it's because India holding the G20 Presidency at this time is like a golden opportunity," Pardesi told. The sentiment reflects not just anticipation for what India can contribute to global discussions, but also pride in how far the nation has come.
In conclusion, as India steps into its role as host and president of this year’s G20 summit, there are high expectations both domestically and internationally. This event represents a significant moment for India to showcase its growth, resilience, and leadership on pressing global issues. It’s a golden opportunity that could further elevate India's stature on the world stage while promoting constructive dialogue towards 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'.
