Allahabad witnessed two parallel and colourful roadshows hosted by the Congress-SP alliance and the BJP to woo voters.

Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh had a thrilling Tuesday afternoon. The voters of the city were wooed by two massive political roadshows hosted ahead of polling on February 23.

On one hand Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah organised a roadshow in the city and on the other it was Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav together.

Thus the opposition parties had simultaneous and parallel roadshows on the same day in the same city. That is what we call the beauty of democracy. Here we bring you a few highlights from the two roadshows through pictures...

The Allahabad roadshow came as an assurance for the SP-Congress alliance as massive crowd, mostly young voters, came out to support their leaders during the roadshow.

BJP president Shah and his party colleagues were seen interacting with the crowd as they travelled across the city in a vehicle which was turned into a chariot. The chariot was pretty colourful, mostly decorated with seasonal flowers.

Both Rahul and incumbent chief minister of UP looked cheerful while addressing the crowd. Both of them gave short speeches and asked voters to support their alliance.
