IAS officer’s death: Won’t protect anyone says CM Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru, March 21: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Saturday that he would make his stand on the death of IAS officer D K Ravi clear on the floor of the legislative assembly on Monday.

Siddaramaiah who addressed media persons in Bengaluru on Saturday said that he will not hide anything relating to the death of the officer who was found hanging at his residence last Monday.

The Chief Minister also made it clear that the state government will not protect anyone in the case. I will give all the details on the floor of the House when the assembly is convened on Monday.

I will give all the details surrounding the death of the officer. We have no intention of protecting anyone or concealing any of the facts relating to this case, Siddaramaiah also assured.

Union Home Ministry told about CBI probe

The Karnataka Chief Minister has communicated to the union home ministry about its decision to hand over the probe to the CBI. The communication was orally communicated to the union home ministry late last night.

The CM is expected to also inform the assembly about the decision on the CBI probe. A formal consent would be obtained from the speaker of the legislative assembly following which a written communication will have to be sent to the home minister in Delhi.

The union home ministry would then issue a directive to the CBI to take over the probe into the case. The process is likely to take at least another week.
