Rajasthan High Court Addresses Grievances Over NEET PG 2024 Round 3 Seat Allotment Process
A notice has been issued by the Rajasthan High Court to the NEET PG counselling board chairman and the director of Rajasthan Medical and Health Services. This follows a writ petition challenging the third round of NEET PG 2024 counselling. The petitioners are MBBS graduates who have taken the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate 2024 exam and are involved in the ongoing counselling process.

The primary concern raised by these petitioners is that seats left vacant after the third round were not made available to all NEET PG 2024 qualified candidates with an MBBS degree. According to Tanvi Dubey, the petitioners' counsel, these candidates are deserving and would have secured a seat if given a fair chance. However, they either miss out on a seat or face exorbitant costs for the same seat.
Disparity in Seat Allocation
Dubey highlighted that the petitioners are also troubled by the fact that these vacant state seats will proceed directly to the stray round. In this round, they are deemed ineligible to participate due to existing rules. Consequently, these seats will be allocated to candidates with significantly lower ranks, leading to a disparity in opportunities.
The petitioners fear long-term consequences as they might be compelled to remain in their current branch indefinitely. This situation arises because they cannot secure a different seat due to the current allocation process. The court has scheduled the next hearing for Friday, considering that seat allotment is set for Saturday.
