Chandigarh, July 21: Over the years, a Haryana tantrik or priest had allegedly raped at least 120 women and he had also filmed videos of his crimes to further blackmail his victims. Finally, the rapist priest, identified as Baba Amarpuri, has been arrested by the police from Fatehabad's Tohana town.

Police officials told reporters that the arrest was made after they received more than 100 video clips of rapes committed by the tantrik. The tantrik has denied charges against him and said that he was framed by policemen as he did not pay them protection money.

The tantrik has been sent to police remand for five days by a local court. He has been booked under various IPC sections.

In the last few months, the nation has witnessed an unprecedented rise in rapes of women and girls. Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday had condemned the gang-rape of a Haryana woman by 40 men.

Congress president tweeted about the incident to express his shock and disgust. This is what Rahul wrote on Twitter: "The rape of a young woman in Haryana, by 40 men, has shocked & disgusted me. Ironically, today in Parliament, I had drawn attention to the issue of growing violence against woman. As a nation, we must hang our heads in shame, for our inability to protect this daughter of India."
