Haryana Sarpanches To Get Enhanced Travel Allowances And Benefits

Haryana's sarpanches are set to receive significant benefits. Panchayat and Cooperation Minister Mahipal Dhanda announced that sarpanches will now get travel allowances similar to HCS officers. A proposal has been made to provide TA-DA at Rs. 16 per kilometre for departmental work.

Previously, sarpanches received Rs. 5000 for High Court cases and Rs. 1100 for local court cases. This amount is now set to increase fivefold. The minister shared this news while visiting villages under the government's Apki Sarkar Aapke Dwar program.

During his recent visits to Faridpur and Mahammadpur villages in Panipat, Dhanda listened to villagers' issues and announced the new benefits for sarpanches. He stated, "During the CM's visit, a sarpanch used to get an expense amount of Rs. 5000 and Rs. 3000 for the minister's visit."

Dhanda further elaborated that these amounts will now be increased significantly. Sarpanches will receive between Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000 during the Chief Minister's visit and Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000 during a minister's visit.

The minister mentioned that these changes will be officially announced at a meeting of sarpanches scheduled for July 2 in Kurukshetra. This meeting aims to discuss and finalise the new allowances and benefits.

The initiative is part of the Haryana Government's efforts to address village-level issues directly through the Apki Sarkar Aapke Dwar program. This program involves government officials visiting villages to understand and resolve local problems.

Enhanced Allowances for Haryana Sarpanches

Dhanda's visits have been instrumental in gathering feedback from villagers and ensuring their concerns are heard at higher levels of government. The new allowances are expected to support sarpanches in their administrative duties more effectively.

The proposed changes reflect the government's commitment to empowering local governance by providing necessary resources and financial support to village leaders.

This move is seen as a step towards strengthening the panchayat system in Haryana, ensuring that sarpanches can perform their roles without financial constraints.

The announcement has been welcomed by many, as it recognises the crucial role of sarpanches in local administration and governance.

The Haryana Government continues to focus on improving rural administration through various initiatives aimed at bettering the lives of villagers and supporting local leaders.
