Haryana Police Demonstrates Innovative Drone-Based Law and Order Management System

Haryana Police has introduced a drone-based contactless law and order management system, aiming to enhance policing efficiency. This technology facilitates effective management of protests while ensuring minimal force is used, reflecting a commitment to public safety.

Haryana Police showcased a drone-based system for managing law and order without direct contact, during an event at Madhuban. This initiative is seen as a significant step towards modernising policing methods. Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur emphasised that technology simplifies complex tasks, making them more efficient.

The demonstration at Madhuban Parade Ground was deemed a success by DGP Kapur. He noted that technology boosts police capabilities in handling large protests and maintaining peace. Referring to the farmers' protest that lasted 13 months, he highlighted the police's minimal use of force, recognising protesters as citizens.

Drone Technology in Law Enforcement

Drone technology has proven effective in such situations, according to Kapur. A standard operating procedure has been developed for its future implementation. The demonstration included two law and order companies and three Vajra vehicles, showcasing successful applications like crowd management and real-time data transmission.

Panchkula Police Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj stated that smart, contactless systems are crucial for crowd control and monitoring sensitive areas. This approach allows the police to manage public order without direct crowd intervention. Drones, hi-tech cameras, AI, and advanced software will be integral to this system.

Training and Implementation

Officials revealed plans for special training for officers on the new system to ensure statewide implementation. The system will enable the police to identify sensitive situations promptly and take swift action. The live demonstration highlighted capabilities in crowd management and real-time monitoring.

Kabiraj explained that with contactless management, the police can effectively control law and order while avoiding direct crowd engagement. This method not only aids in managing crowds but also helps in timely identification of sensitive situations.

The event underscored the potential of technology in enhancing policing efficiency. By integrating drones and advanced technologies, Haryana Police aims to maintain public order with minimal force, ensuring peace and restraint during agitations.
