Haryana Introduces Free Kidney And Liver Transplant Services
In a significant move to enhance healthcare accessibility in Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved a new initiative. This plan will provide free kidney and liver transplant services for eligible patients, covering costs up to Rs 3 lakh under the Mukhya Mantri Muft Ilaaj Yojana.
Health, Medical Education and Research Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal, shared details on Monday. He stated that the current government is dedicated to improving healthcare services and patient welfare.

With this initiative, identified patients can undergo critical kidney and liver transplants at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak, without financial worries.
Additionally, the CM has sanctioned a special fixed package of Rs 3 lakh for kidney and liver transplants under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-Ayushman Bharat Scheme. This package aims to provide lifesaving medical treatments to those in need, ensuring no one is deprived of essential healthcare due to financial constraints.
The minister highlighted that previously, there was no provision to cover expenses related to kidney or liver transplants under MMIY. This left needy patients facing insurmountable hurdles in accessing treatment. The introduction of this facility at a government healthcare institute for the first time is a significant step towards bridging this gap.
"By reducing the financial burden associated with complex medical procedures, the state government is paving the way for a future where healthcare is a fundamental right for all, irrespective of their economic status," said Dr. Banwari Lal.
Dr. Banwari Lal stressed the state government's unwavering commitment to enhancing healthcare services across Haryana. "This initiative reflects our priority to make affordable and accessible treatment available to all patients, especially those in need," he said. "By continuously improving health infrastructure and expanding the scope of services, we aim to ensure that every citizen has access to quality medical care."
These crucial decisions aim to provide lifesaving medical treatments to those who need them most. They ensure that no one is deprived of essential healthcare due to financial constraints.
The introduction of this facility at a government healthcare institute for the first time is a significant step towards providing comprehensive care to society's most vulnerable sections.
This initiative marks a historic step towards making healthcare more accessible and affordable in Haryana. It underscores the government's commitment to patient welfare and improving healthcare services across the state.
