Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar asserts the significant increase in government job recruitment under his leadership, emphasizing transparent and merit-based selections. He announces the upcoming declaration of results for approximately 29,000 posts within the next eight days.

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar asserted that the state has witnessed a significant rise in recruitment to government jobs during the past nine years under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regime. Addressing the state assembly during the motion of thanks to the Haryana Governor's address, Khattar emphasized that the selection processes have been transparent and based solely on merit.

Upcoming Results and Addressing Allegations

The chief minister announced that the results for approximately 29,000 posts will be declared within the next eight days. He also responded to allegations of wrongdoings in government recruitment made by Congress leader Raghuvir Singh Kadian. Khattar challenged Kadian to provide proof of his claims, stating that failure to do so would result in a privilege motion being moved against him.

Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam for Temporary Workers

Khattar highlighted the establishment of Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN) to protect individuals employed on temporary jobs through contractors. This initiative aims to allocate outsourced jobs to the youth while ensuring additional benefits such as Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Employees State Insurance (ESI). Approximately 1,08,000 outsourced employees have already transitioned to the HKRN, and the selection process within the Nigam adheres to transparent principles.

Addressing Unemployment Claims

Refuting the Opposition's claims that Haryana has the highest unemployment rate in the country, Khattar criticized their inconsistent use of data. He pointed out that the Opposition often cites figures from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), which initially showed 2.6 percent unemployment in Haryana in December 2016 but later surged to 37 percent. In contrast, CMIE recorded an 8.6 percent unemployment rate in the state during October-December 2023.

Khattar presented an alternative perspective based on the Parivar Pehchan Patra (family identity cards) issued by the government, where individuals self-declared their employment status. According to this data, the unemployment rate ranges between 7.5 to 8 percent.

Employment Opportunities and Economic Growth

The chief minister highlighted that over the past nine and a half years, more than 30 lakh people have secured employment opportunities in the private sector in Haryana. The state has witnessed a consistent rise in investment, leading to the expansion of industries and increased job opportunities for the youth. Notably, Haryana holds the top position in per capita Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection among major states.

Power Sector Developments

In the power sector, Khattar announced that Haryana now boasts surplus electricity, and there has been no increase in electricity tariffs over the past nine and a half years. Uninterrupted electricity supply is now available in 5,898 villages across the state. Additionally, the Haryana government is establishing an 800-megawatt thermal power plant in Yamunanagar, with the tendering process already underway.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's address in the state assembly highlighted the significant progress made in government recruitment, employment opportunities, and infrastructure development during the past nine and a half years. By addressing concerns about unemployment and ensuring transparency in selection processes, the state government aims to foster economic growth and improve the overall well-being of its citizens.
