Haryana Government Boosts Elderly Welfare With Increased Pensions And Schemes

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini highlighted the government's achievements in Haryana. He noted that in 2014, the elderly received Rs 1000 as old age pension, which has now increased to Rs 3000 in 2024. Over the past nine and a half years, the government has raised the old age pension by Rs 2000.

He mentioned that elderly citizens no longer need to visit offices to receive their pensions. The government has implemented a scheme where pensions start automatically once individuals turn 60. This initiative has benefited 2 lakh 32 thousand people in the state.

Haryana Boosts Elderly Welfare and Pensions

CM Saini also discussed financial support provided under various schemes. The Dayalu scheme has helped 8037 families with financial assistance. Additionally, under the Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan Yojana, 84 lakh people from 23 lakh families can travel up to 1000 kilometers for free on buses.

He further explained that the Ayushman card and Chirayu scheme have been implemented in the state. These schemes ensure that one crore 19 lakh residents receive free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.

The Chief Minister pointed out that 19 lakh 65 thousand elderly individuals are currently receiving the old age respect allowance. This allowance is part of the government's efforts to support senior citizens financially.

In conclusion, CM Saini emphasised the government's commitment to improving the welfare of its citizens through various schemes and initiatives. These efforts aim to provide financial stability and healthcare benefits to a significant portion of Haryana's population.
