Explosion at Firecracker Factory in Haryana Kills Two Migrant Workers
An unfortunate incident occurred when two migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh were killed in an explosion at a firecracker factory in Bhiwani district, Haryana. The police suspect an electric short-circuit may have caused the blast and are currently investigating the matter.
On Wednesday, a tragic incident unfolded in Haryana's Bhiwani district when two migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh were killed due to an explosion at a firecracker factory. The victims, identified as a young man and woman, were engaged in sorting the firecrackers when the blast occurred, according to local police.
Details of the Incident

Station House Officer (SHO) Pawan Kumar of Bawani Khera confirmed over the phone that both victims hailed from Uttar Pradesh. Following information about the explosion, police swiftly arrived at the scene. Ambulances also reached promptly; however, unfortunately, both individuals succumbed to their injuries on-site.
"Two people died and we were told that both were above 18. They were handling the crackers when there was a blast," Kumar said. He further clarified that only these two workers were inside during the time of this unfortunate event.
Possible Causes and Ongoing Investigation
When questioned about what might have sparked off this deadly blast, SHO Kumar suggested that improper storage of numerous fireworks could be one potential reason. "Many firecrackers had been stored. An electric short-circuit may have triggered the blast … all these things are being investigated," he stated.
The police are currently seeking out for the proprietor of this factory who absconded following this incident. The legal status of this establishment is also under scrutiny as no documentation has been found thus far indicating whether it was operating legally or not.
The Need for Safety Regulations
This tragic occurrence underscores once again how crucial it is to ensure safety regulations in factories dealing with hazardous materials like fireworks are strictly adhered to. There needs to be stringent oversight over such establishments where even minor negligence can lead to devastating consequences.
In conclusion, this incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers that factory workers face daily, particularly those dealing with hazardous materials. It highlights the urgent need for stricter safety regulations and effective enforcement in factories. The authorities must carry out thorough investigations into such incidents to hold those responsible accountable and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
