Haryana Enhances Child Safety And Public Transport With New Initiatives

Haryana's Women and Child Development and Transport Minister of State, Aseem Goyal, announced the procurement of medical first-aid kits for Anganwadis across the state.

This initiative aims to ensure that children can receive immediate first aid in case of accidents. The High-Power Purchase Committee approved this decision during a meeting held on Wednesday.

Haryana Boosts Child Safety Public Transport

Transport Minister Aseem Goyal also revealed plans to introduce electric buses in various cities within Haryana. A tender has been awarded to a company for the ITMS to monitor and manage these buses. Initially, these electric buses will operate in 11 municipal corporations, with plans to expand to other cities later.

The High-Power Purchase Committee meeting, chaired by Aseem Goyal, included Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Kanwar Pal. During the meeting, tenders were finalized for several items, including insurance for Haryana Roadways AC buses, e-ticketing systems, bus batteries, mobile oil, and other essential spare parts.

Aseem Goyal highlighted that the state government is committed to equipping the Roadways fleet with advanced technology. The purchase of electric buses is part of efforts to reduce environmental pollution. The committee approved purchases worth approximately Rs. 15 crores during this session.

The Transport Minister emphasized Haryana's unique position in providing exceptional transport services nationwide. He stated, "The state government’s endeavor is to equip the Roadways fleet with state-of-the-art technology." This includes the introduction of electric buses to minimize environmental pollution.

Present at the meeting were Principal Secretary of the Transport Department Navdeep Singh Virk, Commissioner of Women and Child Development Department Amanjit P. Kumar, Director of Transport Department Sujan Singh, and other officials.

The introduction of medical first-aid kits in Anganwadis aims to enhance child safety by providing immediate care during emergencies. This initiative reflects the government's commitment to child welfare and safety.
