Gold jewellery stolen from Telugu film director's house

Hyderabad, Mar 14: Gold jewellery weighing about 150 grams has allegedly been stolen from the residence of Telugu film director Puri Jagannadh in Jubilee Hills area here, police said today.

"A complaint was lodged yesterday stating that gold ornaments weighing 15 tolas were stolen from the house over a period of 30 days between February and this month when the director and his wife were away for shooting," they said.

Following the complaint, a case has been registered by Jubilee Hills police and investigation is on, Assistant Commissioner of Police Uday Kumar Reddy said.

The director's family suspects the role of a maid servant at their house behind the theft, he said. The jewellery was used by the director's daughter for a school event and maid servants in the house were aware of it, he said.
