At least six persons were killed and an army jawan went missing in two separate incidents of cloudbursts in the early hours of Sunday in Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat flew to the rain-hit areas of Dharchula in Pithoragarh district.

Accompanied by state Finance Minister Prakash Pant, Rawat said the affected areas of Dharchula of the border district were extremely disaster-prone and the disaster management department has been asked to prepare an action plan to deal with recurring landslides and other rain-related incidents in the area.

People and devotees were also stranded in the Vyas Valley and were being evacuated to safety by choppers, Pant said.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra had been stopped due to road block caused by floods and landslide. Two bridges were damaged in Mangti and one in Simkhola. Road was blocked at Ailagad, ANI reports.

The water level of the river Kali has been continuously rising and flowing at a dangerous level. Search and rescue operations on.

In Pithoragarh district, a girl was killed and her parents were missing following a landslide on Sunday that buried their house.

At least 46 people died after a landslide swept away two state transport buses in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district. Continuous rain hampered the rescue operation, but five were pulled out alive from the debris.
