Tamil Nadu - Four fined for possession of deer meat
Erode, Apr 6: The district Forest Department has fined Rs 20,000 each on four persons for possessing deer meat, official sources said here today.
Forest Department officials while on patrol duty at Thalakkarai forest area noticed three persons hiding inside a bush. They noticed two kgs of dried deer meet in their bags.

On questioning the three said they received the meat from one Kariyan. The officials took the three to Kariyan's house who admitted that he had distributed the meat to them.
The officials imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of them and let them off with a warning, forest department officials said here.
