Jammu Police Arrest Four Criminals Linked to Recent Firing Incident Amid Public Outcry

The Jammu and Kashmir Police announced on Wednesday that they have resolved the recent shooting incident by arresting four suspects. A video circulating online shows three of these suspects being publicly beaten while being escorted to the police station. This footage, allegedly filmed in Gangyal, has ignited discussions about potential police misconduct. The police have not yet commented on the beating.

Jammu Police Arrest Four in Firing Case

The arrested individuals are accused of firing shots that injured two people at Gangyal Chowk. Among the injured was Paramjeet Singh, a criminal who had recently been released. The police have identified the suspects as Surinder Singh, Harjot Singh alias Anda, both from Dashmesh Nagar, Raman Kumar from Gangyal, and Mohd Ashraf from Narwal.

Police Investigation and Arrests

According to an official statement, these individuals were involved in a criminal conspiracy leading to the shooting incident. The police described their arrest as a major development in the ongoing investigation. The suspects are believed to have connections with organised crime in the area.

The authorities stated that the arrests are a significant step towards dismantling the network linked to this incident. They are continuing their investigation to identify more conspirators and fully understand the gang's operations. This effort aims to uncover any additional criminal activities associated with this group.

Despite the arrests, discussions continue regarding the public beating of the suspects. The video has raised concerns about police conduct during arrests. As of now, there has been no official response from the police regarding these allegations of excessive force.

The situation remains tense as further details emerge about both the shooting incident and the subsequent handling of the suspects by law enforcement. The community is closely watching for any updates or statements from the authorities addressing these issues.
