Narendra Kumar Yadav's book frames health as a pillar of India’s development, urging fitness to be a mass movement. It links traditional disciplines with science, stresses youth and women’s health, and highlights AI and wearables in preventive care for a robust Bharat 2047.

The book presents a strong argument that India's aspiration to become a developed nation by 2047 cannot depend only on economic growth, technology and infrastructure. It emphasizes that the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 must also be supported by a healthy, productive and physically active population.

Reframing fitness as an investment in national productivity rather than merely a personal hobby, the author calls for fitness to become a mass movement involving schools, families, workplaces, communities and government institutions.

Drawing inspiration from India's traditional physical culture - including Vedic traditions, Yoga, Surya Namaskar, Akharas and Mallakhamb - the book advocates combining cultural roots with modern scientific approaches to fitness.

The book also addresses the growing burden of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, obesity and hypertension, describing them not only as health challenges but also as economic threats to India's demographic dividend. It focuses on youth fitness, mental resilience, women's health, active ageing and a "Steroid-Free India," while also highlighting the role of AI and wearable technology in preventive healthcare.

Speaking at the event, Kiren Rijiju said, "The journey to Viksit Bharat @ 2047 will not be measured only by the strength of our economy, but also by the strength of our people. A Fit India will undoubtedly be a Developed India." Author Narendra Kumar Yadav said, "Fitness is not a personal hobby; it is an investment in national productivity. If we want a developed India in 2047, we must build strong, healthy and resilient citizens today."

Narendra Kumar Yadav, IRS (2009 batch), is a senior civil servant and the first civil servant appointed as a Fit India Ambassador. His personal journey of recovering from a severe knee injury and reducing his weight from 107 kg to 86 kg, along with certifications in nutrition and personal training, brings together policy perspective and real-life experience in the book.
