Farmer organisations threaten to ghearo Parliament over land bill
Lucknow, April 18: A group of farmer organisations have threatened to launch a nation-wide stir to press for their demand of withdrawal of the land acquisition bill.
"Our organisation along with other farmer organisation will gherao Parliament on May 5 and demand withdrawl of the land acquisition bill," General Secretary of Akhil Bhartiya Kisan Sabha, Atul Kumar Anjaan here said.

On May 14, he said, we would court arrest country-wide against the anti-farmer ordinance and traffic blockade ('chakka jam') would be observed.
Anjaan alleged that whether it's the Centre or the state governments, they do not seemed to be concerned about farmers hit by rain and hailstorm.
He also alleged that while farmers were committing suicide, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on foreign tour.
Anjaan claimed that merely Rs 200 to Rs 700 per acre was being given in the name of relief and demanded that Rs one lakh crore should be withdrawn from the foreign monetary fund and distributed among the affected farmers.
