'Din Dahade English Bolna Seekhein': Bizarre Marketing Gimmick In MP Liquor Store Goes Viral, Draws Fine
A liquor store owner in Madhya Pradesh's Burhanpur district employed a unique advertising tactic to boost sales.
The poster boldly read, "Din Dahade English Sikhe", and pointed the way to the liquor store. However, this gimmick caught the attention of authorities, resulting in a fine of Rs 10,000.

The poster went viral, sparking a heated debate. Locals argued that the poster was misleading. Students expressed concerns that it suggested consuming alcohol would help them speak English fluently. They feared such a message could have a detrimental impact on impressionable minds.
At first glance, the poster appeared to be an advertisement for an English speaking coaching center. However, it actually directed people to the liquor store.
Students argued that such a poster was a mockery of education.
When the employees of the liquor store were asked about the poster, none provided a direct answer. There were calls for strict action against those responsible for putting up the poster.
Upon being informed about the poster, Bhavya Mittal, the Collector of Burhanpur, instructed the excise department to take action. She directed them to remove the poster and penalise those responsible.
Following these directives, the district excise officer, Virendra Dhakad, imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the liquor store owner.
