Elon Musk Postpones India Visit: New Dates Awaited For Tesla CEO's Trip
Elon Musk, the Tesla chief and one of the world's wealthiest people, has postponed his visit to India, according to Reuters report. The SpaceX founder and CEO had planned to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi as part of his two-day trip to the country.
The specific reasons for the postponement remain unclear, but there are indications that Elon Musk's scheduled call with investors and analysts regarding Tesla's earnings on April 23 may have conflicted with his planned visit to India. The new dates for his India visit have not yet been announced.

However, there has been no response from Tesla or PM Modi's office regarding the Reuters report on the postponement, which was based on information from three sources familiar with the situation.
On April 10, Musk, who also owns X (formerly Twitter), confirmed his meeting with PM Modi in India, expressing his anticipation by stating, "Looking forward to meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in India."
During his now-cancelled trip, Musk was expected to unveil an investment ranging from $2 billion to $3 billion, primarily aimed at constructing a factory in India. This development followed the government's announcement of a policy revision to reduce high tariffs on imported cars for companies that invest domestically, as reported by Reuters. Musk was also scheduled to meet with Indian startups and space companies during his visit.
Musk was scheduled to visit India on - April 21 and 22 - just two days after the commencement of India's national election, in which Prime Minister Modi is predicted to secure a rare third term.
Last year, Musk had stated that Tesla would likely make a significant investment in India, aligning with the government's efforts to attract foreign EV brands to the country.
