Elections 2024: Prashant Kishor Predicts BJP's Victory, Says Saffron Party May Win 20 To 25 More Seats

After conclusion of five phases of polling for Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Political strategist Prashant Kishor in an interview with India Today shared his prediction for ruling BJP under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said BJP will enhance and it may add 20 to 25 more seats in its kitty. Sharing details of his analysis, Kishor said that these extra seats will come from Eastern and Southern India.

While answering a question on INDIA bloc leaders claim that BJP is losing mandate, Prashant Kishor reiterated his prediction saying saffron front will not go below 270 mark, is likely to win 300 seats.

The strategist predicted that the BJP's tally will rise in West Bengal, Telangana, and Odisha. In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 18 out of 42 seats in Bengal, 4 out of 17 in Telangana, and 8 out of 21 in Odisha. This time, the party aims to increase its numbers in these states as well as in Tamil Nadu.

Kishor stated that the BJP's seats and vote shares will grow in Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. He also expressed confidence that there is no risk for the BJP, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will secure another term.

To explain his prediction that the NDA will return to power, Kishor highlighted the BJP's stronghold in the Northern and Western regions, which account for about 325 seats. In these regions, the BJP and its allies have won nearly 90 percent of the seats. In contrast, the BJP's performance in the Eastern and Southern regions-comprising Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala-has been weaker over the past decade, with the party currently holding fewer than 50 seats out of a possible 225 in these areas.

Kishor concluded that for the BJP to face a significant loss, it would need to lose seats in the North and West. However, his assessment indicates that the BJP is unlikely to suffer material damage in these stronghold regions.
