Election 2014: Now, Narendra Modi booked for violation of model code

Narendra Modi
Lucknow, April 8: Prime Ministerial candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) -- Narendra Modi has been booked allegedly for violation of model code of conduct. BJP candidate Nishikant Dubey also has been booked for the same reason in Deogarh district in Uttar Pradesh.

Sub divisional Magistrate JJ Samanta was quoted as saying, "A case has been registered with the Jasidih Police Station against Narendra Modi and Nishikant Dubey for violation of Model Code of Conduct."

The official said that a sticker with images of Modi and Dubey was found pasted on a pole at Tabha Ghat village under the police station.

But names of the printer and the publishers were missing on the sticker

Speaking about model code of conduct during elections, the police official said, "But names of the printer and the publishers were missing on the sticker, which are mandatory according to the Election Commission guidelines."

The case against Modi has been filed just days after a notice sent to his close aide Amit Shah by the Election Commission of India.

Shah has been accused of delivering a hate speech during an election campaign rally at riot-hit Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. Election Commission examined Shah's rally video after receiving an official complaint from the state election commission officials of violation of model code of conduct.
