Dwarka stabbing: Food delivery executive killed after intervening in Delhi street fight

Delhi Police said a 32-year-old food delivery executive, Govind Jha of Mohan Garden, was stabbed to death after intervening in a street fight in Dwarka. Three men, identified as Parvesh, Anish, and Rohit, also suffered stab injuries and remain under treatment. Police urged the public not to give the incident a communal colour.

A food delivery executive, aged 32, died after being stabbed during a late-night street fight in Dwarka, southwest Delhi, police said on Monday. The victim, Govind Jha of Mohan Garden, was attacked after stepping into a clash between two groups. Three other men also suffered stab wounds and remained under hospital care, officials said.

Police said the incident happened on Sunday night at Rajapuri in Dwarka’s Madhu Vihar area. Govind was travelling to work when the fight broke out nearby. Investigators said the case looked like road rage at first. An initial argument between the two sides then turned into a stabbing, police added.

According to police, two men were facing three others during the confrontation. The three were later identified as Parvesh, Anish and Rohit. Govind stopped and tried to calm the situation, police said. During the scuffle, the two men allegedly took out knives. Police said the attackers stabbed Parvesh, Anish and Rohit.

A police officer said Govind was also stabbed while trying to intervene. All four injured men were taken to a nearby hospital. Govind later died during treatment, police said. The three others were kept under medical observation. Police said the accused ran away after the attack.

Dwarka stabbing case: search for accused and police warning

Police said several teams were formed to trace and arrest the suspects. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dwarka Kushal Pal Singh said some social media posts were trying to link the case to religion. The DCP said the victims came from two different communities. The DCP said the accused stabbed all four people.

"There is no communal angle to the incident. This is a heinous crime, and it should be treated as such. Strict action will be taken against those spreading false information,\" he said.

Dwarka stabbing case: family claims and last calls

Govind’s brother Dheeraj Jha said Govind had three stab injuries on the chest. Dheeraj Jha alleged that two unknown people took Govind to a private hospital. Dheeraj Jha alleged they left Govind there. \"We were told he was lying outside for 15 to 20 minutes before he received any treatment,\" Dheeraj Jha alleged.

Dheeraj Jha said Govind had worked as a delivery agent for eight years. Govind’s wife Neeru said the last conversation happened at about 9.40 pm. Neeru said a later call came around 10.30 pm with the news of the stabbing. \"Later, I received a call around 10.30 pm, informing me that he had been stabbed during a fight,\" she said.

Police said the case was being investigated as a violent road rage incident. Officers said the accused remained unidentified and were still being traced. Govind’s death was confirmed at the hospital, while the other three injured men continued treatment. Police also repeated that misleading communal claims online would face strict action.
