Dr Kafeel Khan's brother shot at in UP’s Gorakhpur, condition critical
The brother of Dr Kafeel Khan, an accused in the BRD Medical College case involving the death of 63 children, was shot at allegedly by some unidentified bike-borne miscreants on Sunday.
Lucknow, June 11: Kashif Jameel, the younger brother of Dr Kafeel Khan--an accused in the BRD Medical College case involving the death of 63 children in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur last year--was shot at allegedly by some unidentified bike-borne miscreants on Sunday night in the city.
Talking to reporters, Khan alleged that his brother had been fired at thrice and was currently admitted in a city hospital. "I always said they would try to kill us", he said.

Jameel (34) was rushed to a private nursing home where his condition was stated to be critical, as per various media reports. "We don't know who tried to kill my bother. He has received bullet injuries on his arm, shoulder and neck. He has been admitted to a private hospital and is in critical condition," Adeel Khan, Jameel's elder brother, told India Today.
Around 11 pm on Sunday, in the Humayunpur north area near the JP hospital in the city, some bike-borne miscreants shot at Jameel. He sustained injuries on his right upper arm, neck and chin, Kotwali police station inspector Ghanshyam Tiwari said.
However, the police said the victim's condition is stable.
"He is undergoing treatment at a private hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. No complaint has been given so far," the officer said.
Khan, who was booked in connection with the death of infants at the BRD Medical College and Hospital in Gorakhpur last year, walked out of jail after he got bail in April this year.
On August 24 last year, an FIR was filed against nine persons, including Khan in the case involving the tragic death of children in the hospital. On September 2 last year, Khan was arrested and subsequently removed from his post in the hospital.
Recently, Khan had expressed his willingness to serve in Kerala which is under the grip of the Nipah virus. His request was also accepted by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
There are also allegations that the surgery of Khan's brother was deliberately delayed.
After Khan's release from jail, he told reporters that he fears for his family's life.
